> THE GOOD NEWS
> THE TESTIMONY
wife and I had given birth to a girl named Ejiro earlier in September
2009. So now we have four pretty girls and wish for none more .We had looked forward to having just one more kid and close the chapter
of reproduction, as we had agreed to have a small family of two.
When she however got pregnant and I did the scan in my hospital at seven weeks and discovered it was a set of triplets, she was very sad, though grateful to God.
> THE PREGNANCY
The period of the pregnancy was very stressful for us both. I had to
assign a nurse to her at home throughout. In the early part of the
second trimester, she attended antenatal clinics, but as the pregnancy progressed, that became impossible. She had to be on strict bed rest at home as from 24weeks and was being given all necessary attention at home, by a consultant gynaecologist.
Fortunately for us she did not develop any of the known complications that go with higher order multiple gestations. The little challenge we faced as a result of this was that her abdomen became so large that she couldn't walk from one place to another except I assisted her in carrying the pendullous abdomen with my
two hands! We had to work at targeting these weighs by increasing my
wife's food and beverage consumptions during pregnancy.

> THE DELIVERY
On 24th December 2011, she delivered a set of triplets by elective caesarian section at 35weeks 3days in a private hospital in Akure.
The three babies were all females and weighed 1.9kg, 2.4kg and 2.5kg
and were taken home without the need for incubation. The delivery of
the triplets brought us so much joy. Financially, everything has to be
purchased in three places. Exclusive breastfeeding is not feasible here because of the number. Hence, we have to supplement with artificial baby food. At that moment, they consumed a carton of the baby food (SMA Gold) per week.
> NAMING CEREMONY
We had their naming ceremony celebrated on the 29th January 2012 in a very elaborate manner in our residence in Ijapo Estate Akure, drawing virtually all the who-is-who in Akure and beyond. They were named Love, Peace and Joy. There is a history of multiple births in our families. My father had a set of twins. Her uncle also had a set of twins.
